Trying to sit down and make myself think. Funny, though, that I can't do anything but when I'd rather be doing, and can't seem to be still when I know I want that.

That duel, though, was not what I expected.

And i'd been worrying someone would fall off the roof.

But at least they both came out of it alright. Glad I managed not to grin at Jake, though, when he went straight to Rose.

Something strange was going on though. The way Megan was re-acting, and then Seth... I should ask Jake if he noticed anything; maybe it was just Megan and Seth, and them being worried about thier friends.

Still... keep picturing the flowers.

I'm going to go down to the greenhouses, see if Professor Sprout could use a hand or something.

Tracey,

Tracey, would you like to go to the Harvest Ball with me?

It's nice to eat lunch in the castle. You don't really appreciate it unless you've been trying to eat sandwiches while trying to find the Flying Golden Shoop. Which is where Tracey and I were.

A whole hour of trying to catch that stupid- no, I shouldn't say that, it's actually a very intelligent shoop. And possibly evil. Though that could be the burns talking, since I managed to forget my dragonhide gloves. Oh, joy.

What am I saying, this is the shoop that was directing the sheep, it has to be evil!

If anybody sees that thing, it did get away from us eventually. After we chased it across half the grounds. Oh... and we're sorry about the broomshed? And several small bushes we had to duck behind. And everyone who was forced to get out of the way when it tried to hide behind them.

And then it flew onto the Qudditch pitch.

What in the name of all that's holy possessed me to get on a broom, I don't know. But I'm never doing it again. Never. If anyone sees me about to get on a broom, please Stun me: it'll be less painful than when I fall off.

Though at least this time it was only a couple of feet. And I didn't break anything! Only got bruised, to go with the burns.

I kind of feel bad we didn't continue looking for it today, but I don't think my nerves could take it. Besides... he kind of flew into the castle. So I suspect we'll be hearing something about him, eventually.

Um... I have a horrible feeling about this, I really do. Especially after reading Justin's entry. Linden is harmless, though! Er, relatively harmless. Except to papers.

Oh! Happy birthday, Hermione! I've got a card for you, but I figured I could leave it in the common room? Or actually go down there and give it to you, come to that...

And, um... Linden appears to have eaten someone's homework. It was too far gone by the time I reached it, to tell whose it had been. Sorry! I'm going to make a little pen for him, or set up a ward to keep him in the boy's dorm, at least? I'm not sure yet...

I have named my sheep, (shoop? I never knew that) his name is Linden.

Still trying to get him housebroken, though he seems to be catching on a bit. Mostly from his insistance on following Trevor everywhere. It was kind of funny, earlier; since he can't fly, he couldn't follow Trevor onto that window ledge. He just sat at the bottom, waiting for him to come down.

And bleating.

Um... Harry, Ron, Seamus and Dean? I'm sorry if the bleating was annoying! I'd have set him up there, except he would've fallen down whenever Trevor decided to leave the window.

The first couple of weeks back are so much fun; I've always forgotten something at home. Usually several somethings.

And that stupid trick stair. I'd hoped I could get through my 7th year without getting caught in the bloody thing.

Maybe I'll only get caught in it once? I can hope, right?

Trying to ignore that feeling of having forgotten something, in the hopes that i'll remember it that way. Except I think knowing that i'm trying to remember by not trying kind of ruins it.

Did that make any sense? Um... suddenly feel like i'm babbling. Right, i'll just stop now, then.

Is it just me, or is this year sort of trying to pick up where the last one left off?

I'd like to sit my NEWTS in Herbology, Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts.

I'd also like to continue CoMC as an elective.

If time permits, Madame Pomfrey, i'd like to volunteer in the hospital wing, as I feel as much basic knowledge of Healing as I'm able to get will also be useful as an Auror.

Got woken up early in the morning with the news about Princess Diana. Uncle Algie had sent us an owl, since he knows we don't have a telly. I don't even know what to think; it doesn't seem possible, and Gran is had been crying, I think, before she got me up.

We went to Kensingston and left some flowers there. Weren't the only wizarding folk there, I think. Gran went around visiting some her friends and it was all they were talking about. Had to leave eventually, make sure I was all packed for school.

I... really don't know what to say.

Sir,

Sorry it's a bit late, but I have finished the summer assignment. This is my hex:

Demoror Phoca Moderari.

Or, Stop; Seal Within.

The idea is for it to temporarily block a person's ability to do magic.

I haven't had much practice with it, but what I have had... It seems to work.

It also did a couple of other things; gave me a headache that seemed to be right behind my eyes, and my hands felt very hot when I tried to cast another spell to see if it had worked.

Um. I haven't updated recently, because there hasn't been much to tell. Except, I got my learner's permit for Apparating. Hopefully, I'll be able to pass that before school starts.

Trying to catch up on entries on the journal project. It's a bit late, but Happy Birthday, Parvati and Padma, and Jake!

Um. And my condolences to those who have lost family. All of you.

Bored out of my mind from reading. Still have no hex. Tired and should probably learn to stop when the letters are sort of swimming across the page.

Only remembered thinking that after I woke up, of course. Didn't seem so important at the time. The crick in my says otherwise.

I have this horrible feeling that this won't be the last time I fall asleep reading. The thought of NEWTS seems scarier the closer they get. At least the chairs at Hogwarts are more comfortable?

Next time, I'm just shrinking books and taking them to my room to read. Or maybe outside.

Haven't updated in a bit, but... it's just been very quiet around here.

I'm glad I missed being worried about Harry, though. And I'm glad he's alright, of course.

Going to try and get something besides homework done, but maybe tomorrow.
