Um... can I ask you for some advice?

I don't know if you remember the little Bulstrode girl, Eunice? The one who kept following me when we were there?

She started owling me after we got back to school. And I was trying to be... um, discouraging? But without hurting her feelings. I thought it had worked, or maybe she'd forgotten about me, because I stopped getting owls.

And now this. *attached is Eunice's letter*

I don't know what to do anymore. How do I get her to stop owling me?

Dear Neville,

Did ignoring her owls work? Oh, never mind... How old is she and can she take a hint??

Hmm... tricky. You could apologise and said you did indeed forget about her. Then, you could thank her for reminding you about Valentine's day and ask if she could suggest what you should get for a girl who likes all sorts of animals. Or if chocolate and candy is too typical, or if nice underthings are too personal to give to someone you're eyeing. Oh, and how you figure out what size she wears without asking.

Tracey,

She's twelve, I can't say any - most of that stuff?

Actually, the one about the animals might might work? And chocolate...

Thank you!
Neville

Twelve! Well, of course you can't say some stuff.

Let her down easy, will you?

-Tracey.
